A quiet truck deserves straps that don't rattle
No engine to drown out a loose strap slapping around in the bed. The Lightning uses the same BoxLink anchor points as every F-150 since 2015, so RAD mounts without a single new hole in your truck. No drilling. About 15 minutes.
Same anchors.Same 15-minute install.
Ford built the Lightning on the same bed and the same BoxLink anchor system used on every gas F-150 since 2015. Nothing about the electric platform changes how the tie-down points work. If you're used to seeing installers hesitate to touch anything on a new EV, this is the one accessory that doesn't ask you to.
Four steps.Zero new holes.
The most common hesitation we hear from Lightning owners is simple: nobody wants to drill into a truck this expensive for a truck bed accessory. RAD doesn't ask you to. The mounting plate goes into the existing BoxLink cavity in the bed rail — the same slot Ford already engineered for accessories. Nothing below the bed floor is involved.

Built for the truckyou didn't want to modify
Bolts, not drills
Lightning owners are more careful about their trucks than most, and it shows in what they'll actually install. RAD uses the anchor points Ford already built. Nothing new gets cut into the bed.
No engine to hide a rattle
A loose strap slapping around in a gas truck bed gets lost under road noise. In an EV cabin, you hear everything. RAD's auto-retract keeps the strap tight to the housing at all times — nothing loose, nothing rattling.
CNC-machined, not stamped
The steel mounting plates are machined from solid stock. Same precision fit whether you're bolting into a $35,000 base trim or a fully loaded Platinum.
Pull. Hook. Done.
You pull up to the charger with a bed full of gear. You pull the strap, hook it, and go. No fishing around for a strap tangled around a bag of charging cables.
Lightning questions answered straight
Does RAD affect the Lightning's battery pack or structure?
No. The BoxLink anchor points sit in the bed rail, well above the underbody battery enclosure. RAD's mounting plate uses the same existing holes Ford engineered for bed accessories. Nothing new is cut, drilled, or penetrated into the truck structure.
Will installing RAD void my Lightning's warranty?
No. RAD installs into the existing BoxLink anchor holes using the same bolt pattern Ford designed for accessories. You are not drilling, cutting, or modifying the bed. Aftermarket accessories that don't cause damage do not void a manufacturer's warranty on their own.
Is it worth the price on top of an already expensive truck?
That's a fair question to ask about any $175 accessory. The honest answer: it depends on how often you actually haul gear. If you're pulling loose straps out from under a seat every week, RAD pays for itself in time saved. If you tie something down twice a year, a $20 strap from the hardware store does the job fine.
Can I put the factory BoxLink anchors back?
Yes. Thread them back in exactly as they came out. Same holes, two minutes per corner.
Do the straps rattle or move while driving?
No. The auto-retract mechanism keeps constant tension on the strap and pulls it flush to the housing when not in use. There's no slack length hanging loose to vibrate or slap around.
How many kits do I need for a Lightning?
One kit (two straps, two plates) covers the rear BoxLink pair. Add a second kit for motorcycles or loads that need four anchor points.
