Our Story | RAD Truck Straps

The Original Mounted Ratchet Strap

Built by a Truck Owner.
Made in America.

Jeramie and Dani designed the original mounted ratchet strap because they needed one. What started in a shop became a US-patented product that changed how truck owners secure their loads.

Jeramie
Founder · Inventor · Welder

Jeramie is the kind of person who fixes things instead of replacing them. A hands-on builder and precision craftsman, he spent years developing the mechanical intuition that would eventually produce one of the most useful truck bed accessories on the market.

The original mounted ratchet strap was not born in a boardroom. It was designed by a Ford truck owner who was frustrated with the same problem every truck owner faces: traditional ratchet straps that tangle, slip, and clutter the bed when you need them most.

He is the original inventor of the mounted ratchet strap system. The product carries US Patent No. 12594871 — a granted patent, not pending. The system is hand-assembled in the United States and built to outlast the trucks it rides in.

Dani
Co-Founder · Creative Director

Jeramie builds it. Dani makes sure the world knows about it. Her creativity, customer focus, and commitment to the truck-owner community helped shape RAD into the brand it is today.

Running a business together as husband and wife takes grit, patience, and faith. Through long nights, difficult decisions, and countless hours of work, Dani has helped build RAD from the ground up alongside Jeramie.

"Our story started the way many good ones do: with prayer, a dream, and just enough faith to step out into the unknown."

The RAD Origin Story

Every real product starts with a real problem. RAD Truck Straps is no different. Here is how the original mounted ratchet strap came to exist.

  • 01

A Ford Truck Owner Sees the Problem

Jeramie is a Ford F-150 and F-250 owner. Like every truck owner, he hauled gear — equipment, cargo, anything that needed securing. Traditional ratchet straps were the only option: clunky, tangled, easy to lose, and slow to rig. The bed's existing anchor points were inadequate. He believed there was a better way.

  • 02

    Built It Himself

Jeramie designed and fabricated the first prototype: a precision-machined steel mounting plate that replaces the factory BoxLink anchors on Ford trucks, paired with a retractable ratchet strap in a clean, permanent-install housing. It worked exactly as intended. Neighbors and friends who saw it on his truck wanted one. That was the signal.

  • 03

    RAD Truck Straps Was Born

Jeramie and Dani launched RAD Truck Straps as a family business — faith as the foundation, integrity as the operating model. Every unit is hand-assembled in the USA. The product is made from CNC-machined steel. Nothing is outsourced that would compromise the quality of what goes into a customer's truck.

  • 04

Others Took Notice — and Tried to Copy It

When a product is genuinely better, competitors notice. As RAD grew in the Ford truck community, others entered the market with similar-looking products. Jeramie's response was simple: keep building the better product and protect what he invented. The mounting system is protected by US Patent No. 12594871. The original still leads.

  • 05

    DOT Certified. Category Defined.

RAD Truck Straps earned DOT certification under FMCSA cargo securement standards (49 CFR Part 393) — making RAD the only mounted ratchet strap brand in the category to claim it. A patent protects the invention. DOT certification validates it. No other brand in this space has both.

Every Major Truck Platform. Still Made in America.

The Universal Plate system now fits Chevy Silverado, RAM 1500, GMC Sierra, Toyota Tacoma, and Tundra alongside the full Ford lineup. RAD's mounted ratchet strap system is available for every major truck platform in the United States — still made in America, still built to the standard Jeramie set in his shop.

Built to Last. Built Here.

RAD Truck Straps are not mass-produced overseas and drop-shipped. Every unit is hand-assembled in the United States from CNC-machined steel components. The quality is built in, not inspected in.
