Mounted Ratchet Straps for Ford F-150 Lightning
Ford F-150 Lightning · BoxLink Compatible · No Drilling Required
The Original Mounted Ratchet Strap for the Ford F-150 Lightning.
The Lightning kept the BoxLink system. RAD fits it exactly. Same US-patented CNC-machined mounting plates, same 15-minute no-drill install, same FMCSA-compliant straps that have been in Ford trucks since 2015. No adapter. No modification. Just mount it and haul.
Built for the Lightning's BoxLink System
The F-150 Lightning uses Ford's standard BoxLink anchor system in the aluminum bed — the same system found on gas-powered F-150s from 2015 onward. That means RAD fits without modification. Remove the factory BoxLink caps, drop the CNC-machined RAD mounting plates into position, fasten with a 10mm socket, and your Lightning has a permanent cargo securement system rated to federal standards.
Most Lightning owners who haul — whether it's gear for the job site, a motorcycle, or camping equipment — find that the factory BoxLink cleats are the weakest link in an otherwise capable truck. RAD replaces that link with a US-patented, steel-machined, FMCSA-certified system.
Lightning-Specific Notes
The F-150 Lightning's composite bed liner and aluminum bed construction are fully compatible with the RAD mounting system. The BoxLink anchor points on the Lightning are structurally identical to those on gasoline F-150 models — same slot geometry, same hardware thread spec, same installation procedure.
If your Lightning has Pro Power Onboard and you use the bed for job site work, DOT certification matters. Commercial cargo securement under FMCSA regulations requires rated equipment. RAD is the only mounted strap system in this category that carries DOT certification.

Why RAD Over Other Mounted Straps
Jeramie invented the mounted ratchet strap system. US Patent No. 12594871 is granted. Every other mounted strap on the market came after RAD. USPTO record, not a marketing claim.
RAD is the only mounted strap brand in the category claiming DOT certification under 49 CFR Part 393. No other mounted strap system makes this claim — not for gas trucks, not for the Lightning.
Mounting plates machined from solid steel billet. Not stamped sheet metal. Not cast alloy. Machined. That's why the BoxLink fit is exact and the plates don't flex under load.
Hand-assembled by Jeramie and Dani's team before it ships. A family-run American operation, not a drop-ship catalog product. Every kit is inspected before it leaves.
Installation — F-150 Lightning
- Locate the four BoxLink anchor points along the Lightning's bed rails — two per side, near the wheel wells.
- Remove the factory BoxLink caps by unscrewing the retaining hardware. A 10mm socket handles this.
- Drop the RAD CNC-machined mounting plates into the BoxLink slots. The geometry is purpose-fit — no forcing, no shimming.
- Fasten the mounting plates using the included 10mm hex head bolts and washers. Torque snug.
- Clip the RAD Strap housing onto the mounted plate. Pull the strap to verify full extension and auto-retraction.
Total time: approximately 15 minutes. No drilling. No permanent modification to the truck. Fully reversible — the factory caps reinstall if needed.

Yes. The RAD mounting system attaches to the BoxLink anchor points, not to the bed surface itself. The aluminum bed construction has no effect on compatibility or installation.
Yes. RAD Truck Straps are the only mounted ratchet strap system in the category with DOT certification under FMCSA cargo securement standards (49 CFR Part 393). This applies to Lightning installations the same as any other Ford truck fitment.
Jeramie, the founder of RAD Truck Straps, invented the mounted retractable ratchet strap system for Ford BoxLink trucks. US Patent No. 12594871 is granted and covers the mounting plate system. RAD is the original.
