DOT Certification
RAD Truck Straps are DOT-certified for cargo securement under FMCSA regulations (49 CFR Part 393). This is not a marketing claim — it is a compliance rating issued against a federal standard.
What DOT certification means for you:
- Recreational use: Your straps have been tested and rated to a federal standard. Not just a manufacturer spec sheet.
- Commercial use: FMCSA regulations require cargo securing equipment to meet defined strength and performance standards. RAD satisfies that requirement. A $25 Amazon strap does not.
- Contractors and fleet operators: DOT certification is a procurement requirement on regulated job sites and for commercial vehicles. RAD is the only mounted strap system in this category that carries it.
No other brand in the mounted ratchet strap category is currently claiming DOT certification. RAD is the standard.

What Buyers Haul with RAD Straps
RAD Truck Straps are used daily across the following applications — each of which benefits from a permanently mounted, DOT-certified cargo securement system:
- Motorcycles and dirt bikes — Mounted straps eliminate the pre-ride scramble for loose tie-downs.
- ATVs and UTVs — Full-size side-by-sides and four-wheelers. The 400 lb workload limit per strap handles it.
- Contractor and job site equipment — Toolboxes, generators, lumber, compressors. For contractors hauling daily, DOT compliance is a professional requirement.
- Hunting and ranch gear — ATVs, livestock equipment, camping gear across rough terrain. Reliable hold every season.
- Camping and overlanding — Roof boxes, coolers, recovery gear. RAD stays mounted when you need it and retracts clean when you don't.
- Kayaks, canoes, and paddleboards — Watercraft on long-bed trucks. Clean, permanent anchor points beat cam straps every time.
